Sound of Freedom is Worth Every Minute!
How can humans be so cruel? Why do we do terrible things to one another? While the ability to become a monster is not something the average adult misunderstands, on the contrary, becoming a monster seems impossible to the pure at heart. My sons often ask me “Why” whenever they hear about the incredibly bad behavior some adults exhibit. When they hear a story or watch a movie and the villain does something terrible, they often do not understand why a person could do such a thing. Their childhood purity, intact and twinkling in their beautiful eyes, shines through in these moments where they demonstrate the true goodness in their hearts.
Sound of Freedom Pulls on the Heart Strings
Holding my son Bear before he went to bed as I walked in just after watching Sound of Freedom, my face began to swell as my eyes fill with tears. What a blessing that I would make it back just in time to catch this hug before he drifted off into the wondrous dreamland he adventures in his sleep. The understanding of pain countless fathers and mothers must be feeling the same moment I held my son, understanding how lucky I am to have this opportunity and how devastating it must feel for my peer parents out there to be missing their children while I hold mine forces the tears to burst from my eyes.
My wife was shocked that I walked into the bedroom, disturbing the typical serenity of our bedtime ritual, to request a hug from Bear, our three-year-old son, when I returned from watching this movie. She was even more surprised to see me burst into tears, hugging him tight. His concern for me was clear, leaning back to look me in the eyes and ask, “Are you okay, Daddy?” To which I returned, “Yes, I just love you so much and needed a hug.”
Powerful, Gripping, and Impactful
I can not recall ever experiencing a powerful film in all of my life. While I am sure the above is not exactly a sales pitch for a movie, deep feelings are something that many avoid these days, and sometimes it is to a fault; trust me, folks, the sacrifice is worth the treasure with Sound of Freedom.
Apart from the ability of this film to wrench tears from the audience, the entire masterpiece that this film is, aside from its content, is remarkable, from incredible cinematography, impressive music, and a score that supports the imagery to an unbelievably gripping story that plays like an Ocean’s 11-style thriller, Sound of Freedom delivers.
