Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla announced that it would recall more than 360,000 vehicles over Full Self-Driving Beta software that could cause a crash.

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration indicated that the software may make errant driving decisions such as continuing straight through an intersection while in a turn lane, driving through a yellow light, or not completely stopping at an intersection with a stop sign, The Hill reported.

The recall will affect a range of Tesla vehicles equipped with the software, including Model S and Model X Teslas made from 2016-2023, Model 3s made from 2017-2023, and Model Ys from 2020-2023. The company intends to release a software update to correct the issue.

Reports emerged in October of 2022 that the company was facing a probe from the Department of Justice over its “Autopilot” feature and promotional videos that appeared to claim the vehicles were fully self-operating.

The firm itself confirmed in January of this year that the DOJ had requested information from Tesla on the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving features, but denied awareness of any ongoing federal investigations.
